Wilson was volunteering at Rainbow Haven when he was granted refugee status.

A professional structural engineer overseas, Wilson was given permission to work when he was granted.

Wilson’s volunteer advice supervisor at Rainbow Haven quickly referred Wilson to Refugees & Mentors (R&M’s) Mentoring Project for employment support.

Wilson is now being supported by a volunteer mentor and the project manager at Refugees & Mentors. He has been referred to The Works to do a CSCS course and matched with a R&M’s volunteer mentor for support to improve the quality of his job application and interview skills.

We hope that Wilson will be able to join R&M’s pilot Returner Project for skilled refugee professionals, so he can gain paid UK professional work experience whilst he is waiting for her family to safely join him in Manchester.
