People granted refugee status or humanitarian protection have permission to work in the UK.

Most people granted refugee status or humanitarian protection are issued a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card, which is the same size as a UK driving licence.

If someone has a BRP you can use the UK government website to check if someone has the right to work https://www.gov.uk/legal-right-work-uk/y

You can also use the Employer Checking Service https://www.gov.uk/employee-immigration-employment-status or, if someone has shared their details on ‘Prove Your Right to Work’ https://www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work you can ask them for their Share Code and permission to view their right to work here https://www.gov.uk/view-right-to-work
